Original features made the space work as a blank canvas for the client’s art collection

Colaço & Graham, run by Michel Colaco and Francesca Graham, was approached by their client to help her with the redesign of this amazing apartment, located on Mount Street, Mayfair The home has an understated classical feel and high ceilings, mouldings and Boiseries throughout.

Working in collaboration with Brazilian Architect, Dayanne Cavalcanti, the pair realised how important art was for the client, with her amazing collection built up over years. As a result, the team’s starting point was to make the flat work like a gallery, but with more going on besides. Original structural features made the space work as a blank canvas, with art strategically displayed, yet it still retained a sense of being a home.

The majority of the furniture comes from wellknown Italian brands like B&B Italia, Minotti, Cassina and Poltrona Frau, following simple shapes and forms so as to not overshadow the art.

The children’s passion for music is not forgotten, with a piano placed between living and dining areas. Proof that, despite its stunning artistic tendencies, this space remains a family home.

Colaço & Graham says that it was a pleasure to work with this client as she had impeccable taste and a great eye.
