The brief for this 5 bedroom Dulwich family home renovation was initially to focus on and re-plan the ground floor. Rooms were moved around, every space was given a specific function and a flow was created within the property. A wall was removed to create a larger kitchen family area and new wider doors were installed to reinforce the connection with a well appointed garden. The house now feels like a grand home rather than small individual units that didn’t relate to each other. Th e client liked contemporary styles such as those of Kelly Hoppen, yet she wanted a scheme that would be far richer in colour. The challenge was to introduce colour and still keep that feeling of elegance, and a flow between the diff erent shades and tones in
different rooms that still worked together as a whole.
Architecturally, a lot of structural changes were made to the room layouts to better zone the house. The original layout featured numerous arches which were immediately converted back into more contemporary straight lines.
The end result was a total transformation of the property which has left the client extremely pleased. “The results have been amazing.
